Vellari Pazham Sharbat, today we are gonna see how to prepare healthy Cucumber Fruit Sharbat prepared using Khus Syrup / Vetiver Sharbat. This is a very simple, easy and vegan friendly sharbat recipe. The fruit is sweetened with vetiver sharbat which was prepared at home. The vetiver sharbat has the combination of both palm jaggery and white sugar. It is not necessary to add vetiver sharbat alone. You can also try adding nannari sharbat.
Cucumber Fruit, known as “Vellari Pazham” in Tamil available in summer season. We bought this in our native last weekend. The fruit will be very large and can be used only when it gets crack. The taste will be very similar as Musk Melon. I came to know about this fruit through my husband. At my in-laws place, they just chop this fruit into pieces and mix it with sugar and serve. When you buy a cucumber fruit, peel off the skin and remove the seeds, chop the fruit and use it. Since the fruit will be much bigger, even bigger than Lauki / Bottle-gourd, you can just remove the seeds and keep the left over fruit in refrigerator and use it next day. Cucumber Fruit has more water content. It can be used to prepare juice, sharbat, lassi or milkshake.
